Talking to myself in public

Who needs Windows? Not me apparently.

Obviously a lot of people need to run Windows on their computers for work but I don't work on a computer. I play games on my computer but increasingly you don't need Windows for that. Windows has been seemingly getting worse, Microsoft is on the BDS list, and I have some experience with Linux so I finally decided to completely switch.

I traded in my 3070 for a 9070. Performance wise I was fine with the 3070 but I've seen people say that AMD just works better on Linux and I didn't want any headaches. My laptop is running Fedora but I went with Bazzite for my desktop because It's mostly for games. It's a boring story but everything basically just worked, desktop Linux has come a long way. It is a little strange to use a proprietary store front as my computer desktop but I could always wipe this computer again and put something else.

I wont be able to play games that use some kind of spyware as an anti-cheat but I never felt comfortable installing that stuff anyway. I prefer single player games so this works great for me but if you're someone who plays a lot of competitive multiplayer then you're probably still stuck with Windows, except for fighting games which all work great (2XKO will use that same spyware however).

Reminder to keep up to date backups of all your important files.
